In the tire industry, these terms are often used interchangeably by customers, but they actually describe two very different levels of labor and equipment.
For an EV owner, knowing the difference is key to booking the right amount of time for your mobile service.
The Setup:
Seasonal Tire Change (Swap): Your tires are already on their own rims (2 sets of wheels).
Tire Changeover (Mount & Balance): You have one set of rims and two sets of rubber (Summer/Winter).
The Process
Seasonal Tire Change (Swap): We take one set off the car and bolt the other set on.
Tire Changeover (Mount & Balance): We strip the rubber off the rims, mount the new tires, and re-balance them.
Time Required
Seasonal Tire Change (Swap): Approx. 20–30 minutes.
Tire Changeover (Mount & Balance): Approx. 60–90 minutes.
Equipment
Seasonal Tire Change (Swap): Floor jacks, jack pads, and torque wrenches.
Tire Changeover (Mount & Balance): Requires a Mobile Tire Changer and Wheel Balancer.
Cost
Seasonal Tire Change (Swap): Generally more affordable.
Tire Changeover (Mount & Balance): More expensive due to the labor of mounting/balancing.

We install new tires purchased from anywhere, as long as they meet or exceed your carmakers’ specifications. However, we do not install tires bought used from marketplace or used tire shops. If our technicians will determine that the tires were not previously installed on your vehicle and they are the wrong size, a minimum service fee of $60 + tax is due for the visit.

No, unfortunatelly our service vehicles and trailers will not fit in underground parkings. Also, we do not perform ample jobs such as tire changeovers on the streets in the GTA due to parking restrictions, and by-law enforcement. Driveways must be smooth, and allow 5-6 feet clearance all around the vehicle so that we can work properly.

No, for safety reasons, please remove the snow and ice prior to our tech’s arrival on site. We reserve the right to refuse work due to unsafe conditions. If we have to shovel and / or de-ice the driveway to perform the work, additional fees may apply.

The pricing model for EV mobile tire change is very simple:
Tire change (wheel to wheel swap) pricing is $120 for 1 vehicle and all additional vehicles will be billed at $85 each, taxes extra.
Tire changeover: $220 for 1 vehicle and $150 for additional vehicles at the same location.

The best times of the year to book your seasonal tire change or changeovers are:
Changing to winter tires: reserve your appointment for October or November at the end of August.
Changing to summer tires: reserve your appointment for March, April of May at the end of February.

No, balancing is not included with wheel to wheel swap seasonal tire change, but it can be provided for an additional $30, so your total will be $120+$30=$150+tax.
Balancing is included with the mobile tire changeover service automatically.
